Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body's subtle energy systems. By breaking energetic blocks or by restoring energies that have become weak, disturbed, or out of balance, we stimulate the body's ability to heal itself.
Humans have been studying the body's energy centers for thousands of years. For example, Reiki is the Japanese tradition of energy healing. The seven chakras, the energy transmission centers of the body, were first described in ancient Hindu texts. In Chinese medicine, energy is called qi (pronounced chee), and Chinese medicine practitioners developed acupuncture on the Meridians, the energy superhighways of the body, a very long time ago. Even in everyday life, we unconsciously use energy healing techniques. For example, a mother caressing a crying baby, whereby the mother's hands also acting as a way of bioenergetic healing.
Today, we know many energy healing techniques, and all are based on similar principles. Energy therapy can be performed by a therapist, or by yourself. The following videos introduce some simple (mostly) self-healing techniques. Practicing these techniques regularly will help keep your energies balanced and humming. That way you can improve your health, and increase your vitality. For serious medical conditions, you should always combine alternative medicine with traditional medicine and consult a specialist.
